A fresh wave of regional tensions erupted after Iran reportedly launched multiple ballistic missiles toward U.S. forces in the Middle East, ending a brief pause in hostilities between Washington and Tehran.
According to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the missile attack took place at approximately 5:45 p.m. EDT (9:45 p.m. GMT) on Tuesday. The U.S. military described the strike as an attempted surprise attack and said all incoming ballistic missiles were successfully intercepted, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

In response, U.S. and Saudi Arabian forces carried out coordinated strikes against what CENTCOM described as Iran-aligned militant logistics and weapons facilities in eastern Iraq.
