Mumbai Police have arrested five people from Pune in connection with the firing incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai, officials said on Sunday.
The five arrested accused have been identified as Aman Anand Marote (27), Aditya Gyaneshwar Gayaki (19), Siddharth Deepak Yenpure (20), Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji (18), and Swapnil Bandu Sakat (23).
According to the police, the incident took place at around 12.45 am, when unknown assailants opened fire at the first floor of a nine-story residential building in Juhu, where the filmmaker resides, and escaped the area.
Preliminary reports indicate that at least five bullets were fired during the attack. There were no reported injuries in the incident.
Further investigations are being conducted to identify the reason behind the firing incident and whether the five arrested individuals were directly involved in the attack, officials said.
