Dhurandhar 2 BMC Violations: Mumbai Civic Body Seeks Permanent Ban on Aditya Dhar’s Production House

Dhurandhar 2 BMC Violations Spark Blacklisting Move Against Aditya Dhar’s Production House

The controversy surrounding the Dhurandhar 2 BMC Violations has intensified as the Mumbai civic body has adopted a tough stand against the regular violation of shooting regulations during the filming of the movie. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has formally demanded a permanent blacklist of the production house of filmmaker Aditya Dhar for regular violations of shooting regulations.

What Led to the BMC Action Against Dhurandhar 2

As per the civic officials, the violations took place during the shooting of “Dhurandhar 2” in South Mumbai’s Fort area, which falls under the A Ward. Although the filming permission was given for certain dates, BMC officials alleged that the production house violated the terms and conditions on several occasions.

The list of violations included shooting on the terrace of a residential building without permission, using extra generator vans without permission, and violating safety guidelines as set by the police. The civic officials stated that warning notices were issued for the initial violations, but corrective actions were not taken uniformly.

The BMC has clarified that such violations affect the regulatory framework that aims to strike a balance between film production requirements and public safety in densely populated areas.

Police Safety Concerns and Use of Flammable Materials

The issue escalated after the Mumbai Police intervened in response to complaints raised during late-night shooting schedules. Despite earlier assurances that no dangerous materials would be used, the authorities allegedly discovered torches and inflammable equipment being used on the set.

The police personnel confiscated the equipment and directed an immediate stop to its use due to fire safety and nearby resident concerns. Later, civic officials pointed out this serious violation of police-imposed conditions, further justifying tougher action against the production unit.

Penalties and Call for Permanent Blacklisting

In its notice to senior officials, the BMC has suggested several punitive actions. These include the confiscation of the security deposit paid by the production, a fine for the unauthorized operations, and the blacklisting of the production house for all future shooting permission applications in Mumbai.

The BMC has stated that in cases of repeated non-compliance, despite warnings, there is little room for leniency. The officials have made it clear that failure to strictly follow rules could lead to a dangerous precedent being set.
